Below is a list of bugs associated with Aim 6.1

Aim 6.1 says "A Server Error Has Occured" or "Connection has Timed Out"

Internet Explorer Suggestions
  • Fix: Work Offline should be turned off in Internet Explorer
  • Fix: IE should be set as defualt browser.
  • Fix: Never Dial a connection should be set for Broadband users.
  • Fix: IE must be able to visit websites.
  • Fix: Firewall must allow IE and Aim6.exe to connect to internet.
  • Fix: Manually set Proxy Settings with Internet Explorer
  • Fix: Define HTTP and HTTPS proxy server in Internet Explorer
  • Fix: Set Correct Time and Date
Other Unknown Connection Suggestions
  • Use Ethereal to locate the Problem
  • UK Users should Install UK Version of Aim 6.0
Nero 6 Installation Issues
  • Fix: Use iStream Reg Patch

Aim 6.1 does not skin properly or uses Windows XP Themes:
Fix: Turn Off Accessability Options.

My Buddy Icon and Smiley Faces Do Not Show Up.
Fix: IE must be set to default browser
Fix: Uninstall and Reinstall Adobe Flash Player
Fix: Reinstall Viewpoint Media Player

My Buddy Info Freezes or Crashes my computer when I try to Edit it.
Fix: Open your common.cls using a SQL Database Reader. Find the buddy profile and delete the entry, then restart AIM.
Fix: Install Aim 6.1 to reset your buddy info.

My Aim Screennames Do not Link / Unlink.
Bug: If you have this problem it must be fixed by AOL's end.
Fix: Go to Mail.aol.com, click the drop down box next to your screen name and click Manage Screen Names, try linking from there.

Buddy Info says I'm over the limit even when I hardly have anything typed
Fix: Press Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C, Delete, Save. Press Ctrl+V, Save. You should avoid using Backspace, and Enter. Instead use Shift+Enter, and Delete.

Aim 6.1 says Error Code: IS-2002 when installing.
Fix: Delete Aim 6.1 Installation Files
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\AOL Downloads
Fix: Try the Full Installer Link

I can't see my IMs sent, I can hear that it was sent.
Fix: Uninstall Smiley Central, Disable Aim Commander Plugin

hey well i have a mic and i can never use it on aim..... really dissapointing because ima gamer..... everytime i try it my friends mic works and mine doesnt..... i have the program audacity and i use my microphone all the time it works perfectly fine i think its a aim bug sometimes connection times out or unknown failure how can i fix it?
